OXEL_â Spiral Silencers provide superb attenuation, especially in the difficult lower octave bands.  These higher attenuation numbers are achieved with a very low pressure drop and within a compact package.

The efficiency of the OXEL_â silencer is evident when you compare the attenuation numbers on the specification sheets to conventional baffle or cylindrical/bullet type silencers.

OXEL_â silencers are constructed from various materials depending upon the application.  Variations of materials used in the manufacture of OXEL_â silencers include stainless steel (type 304, 316 & 409) aluminum (5052-H32 & 6061-T6), carbon steel, and FRP (fiberglass reinforced polyester resin).  All materials (except for stainless steel and FRP) are epoxy powder coated to provide a long life weather resistant finish.

High temperature units are available with ceramic fiber acoustical material.  These units are available to withstand up to 2000 degrees F.

In all low temperature applications (up to 500 degrees F), a 1.5 lb/sq. ft dampening material is applied to the casing.  This is especially important with applications in HVAC, since in many cases the silencers are normally self-supporting and are supplied ready to install.

The OXEL_â silencer’s compact size contributes greatly to cost savings through ease of installation, reduction of added structural costs, and associated shipping charges.  These silencers are normally self-supporting and are supplied ready to install.
